I always tell lifters, when you transition to meet prep to off-season training, that’s when the mindset needs to shift from seeing numbers increase to making lighter stuff feel heavy

Don’t expect to go from training singles all the time to crushing weight on 15-20 rep sets. Don’t expect to go from competition grip for weeks on end, to all of a sudden crushing it with close grip

You need to struggle for a while. Mindset needs to switch over to maximizing out training effect, not the weight lifted. When you’re able to make that switch easy you’ll become a more dangerous lifter
