Sometimes the hardest thing to do as a coach is scaling back to teach a complete beginner a movement. They don’t know any terms, they have zero expectations of how things should be, it’s really a clean slate

The first thing I look for right off the bat on the set up is whether or not the shoulders are in a safe pressing position. I cue and demonstrate for them what a good position looks like and make sure they are staying safe while pressing

First priority in any learning scenario needs to be safety. If you’re ever confused on what to look for first, just make sure the environment is safe and they aren’t doing anything that could potential hurt them
