HOW TO BREATHE WHILE BENCHING

I’m a little surprised and dissapointed at some of the misinformation out there regarding proper breathing to handle heavy weights

I guess it goes to show you how important the basics are!

How should you control your breathing while bench pressing??

HOLD YOUR BREATHE THE ENTIRE REP! Simple as that!

This is commonly referred to as the valsalva maneuver

Personal trainers often tell clients to breathe out on the press. This will allow the lifter to feel comfortable but will not allow them to fully control and explode into the weight!

Time to break this common misconception

To stay tight and put the most force into the bar you need to hold your breathe! Take your time and reset this breath each and every rep!

Never feel rushed to get into another rep, that’s how form breakdown occurs
