Is it bad for you?

Unlike with a squat or a deadlift where you have axial loads, bench pressing is different. Arching is perfectly safe and beneficial and everyone will look different based on their own personal flexibility.

Is it beneficial?

Absolutely! You decrease range of motion and protect your shoulders! Some people experience lower back pain but I challenge you to think about the arch in a different manner

Instead if driving your belly up and extending your back, rather just let your shoulder tuck dictate your arch. In the video I demonstrate both. They look the same but they yield very different feelings
