We take to the @bigbenchas HQ white board for today’s topic: How to adjust your bar path for each bench pressing variation. What’s different from Raw to Equipped, from Close to Wide?

The raw groove should look like a Half V. You take the bar out as close as you can to where you want to touch it and then throw back over the shoulders (yes only applicable for 1 rep). Equipped groove is just a more exaggerated look at the raw groove. With a lower touch and more of a throw back with the bar

A close grip is going to be living in the low sternum range and you actually want to think press straight up there so that you can target the triceps. Wide grip is going to be a higher touch point right near nipple line and you’re purposefully trying to stretch your chest and utilize chest and shoulders
