Have you been benching with your toes forward? This isn’t inherently wrong per say, however I found an enormous benefit to turning your toes out
This increases the surface area in which you’re pushing away from the floor with. Not only does it make it a little easier to drive the knees out and engage the hips, but it also gives you more traction and support to the floor
Given a circumstance in which a competition floor might be slippery as well (I’ve competed on wood), you can dig the side of your foot into the surface for traction
