This is a great myofascial release technique I came about while experimenting with ways to hit my hamstrings more efficiently. Place a softball underneath your hamstrings, and apply a Thompson Fatbell on top of the quads. This will not only effectively release the quads but will also apply more pressure to the softball underneath the hamstrings. It is a great 1-2 punch for hitting the quads and hamstrings in combination!
Start with a lighter Fatbell and assess your tolerance. Somebody that is lighter or more tight will need less pressure to start. We are utilizing a 53 lb Thompson Fatbell in the video. You can purchase Thompson Fatbells on roguefitness.com. They are a great tool for myofascial release, I highly recommend them. If you do not have a Fatbell, any weighted implement should work effectively as well.
